Musician in the Making

Over the past couple of days, Caleb has really begun to smile. These sweet smiles, however, are almost impossible to catch on film. The lights and sounds of his first piano kept his attention as he listened in his crib. He also began to ham it up while daddy held him flashing us his adorable smile and a few other interesting expressions as well.

Merry Christmas!

We enjoyed a relaxing Christmas at home. Grandparents came up from Little Rock and Aunt Kat came too. We opened presents just before dinner. I think Caleb's favorite gift was Mommy's Moby wrap shown holding him at dinner. Daddy cooked a turkey and his famous cake to celebrate Jesus' birthday.

Christmas Eve

We are especially enjoying the celebration of Christmas this year. Caleb is a wonderful reminder that the gift of a child is truly the most precious gift this season. He definitely helped take the hustle and bustle out of this time and has been the excuse of much family time at home.

We enjoyed the Christmas Eve service with Matt's parents. As we record the details of this special first Christmas in our family Christmas Memories Book, we look forward to many special ones in years to come while savoring every moment of this one.

My Little Piece of Peppermint Candy

Monday we went to my staff Christmas party where Caleb was gladly passed. Also this week, my peppermint candy visited Santa although he doesn't know he did. He weighed in this week at a whopping 10 pounds.
I also caught his fascinated expression that he makes each time he hears his lamb singing Jesus Loves Me. Lauren, the lamb has become a favorite of ours just like for Ellen. The changing table is his favorite place to be. He stretches his arms and legs, flexes his muscles and amuses himself by striking a pose.

Happy Anniversary!

Matt and I celebrated our 5th anniversary December 7. Hard to think that in another 5 we will have a kindergartener. Thank you Kristy and Reagan for watching Caleb while we went to dinner.

Saturday night Caleb met more friends at our Sunday School Christmas party. Sunday morning was his first trip to church. The cantata kept him lulled to sleep, but he perked up for Mike's message. Well, eating may have had a little to do with it. Caleb is using his strong feet to push himself and trying very hard to hold his head up. Matt gave him his first bottle and has blessed me with middle of the night feedings ever since. This weekend Granddaddy Gregson came to visit. Anniversary pictures are above with Daddy-time pictures. Below is the sweetest little hand in the world along with our yard stork...thanks UBC.

Mommy and Caleb

We just can't seem to put down the camera as Caleb seems to get cuter and cuter each day.
