First Time Fishing

While Grandpa was here we took him down to our pond to feed the ducks.
Caleb was quite interested as a neighbor caught a fish quickly after we arrived. She let him use a pole to put in the water. He kept pulling it up and saying "umm no fish" not understanding that it takes time.

Caleb also took advantage of someone to push him on his swing set.

Ready to Move

Last week Emma Katherine decided she was ready to move. Her scooting is a little different as most of the time she uses both hands at the same time to pull herself forward. Here she is playing her new tambourine and happy about her new found talent.

She is eating food once a day but finding that not everything is as good as butternut squash and applesauce. I laugh at her deflated excitement.

Here she comes...

and there she goes.

But most of the time she is too distracted to keep moving as she stops to smile at her audience instead of crawling away.

Saint Patrick's Day

We spent Saint Patrick's Day in the much welcomed sunshine! The best green we found was definitely outside. It was windy but Emma liked sitting in the soft grass and Caleb enjoyed playing at the park then more in the front yard.

Caleb is pretty good with his soccer ball and pretty cute to watch.

Cousins Playing

Last weekend all of the kiddos played.
Caleb tried to keep everyone entertained.Emma showed how much she loves her baths and shared her tub.
The girls held conversations andAbby showed off her walking skillswhile Emma Katherine preferred to roll everywhere.
What do you notice about this picture? If you guessed no children you are right! Going to the Walton Arts Center Saturday night sure was a special treat.

Not too cold for baseball?

It seems like lately the weather has been nice on the weekends but rainy on the weekends. Caleb was determined to play baseball and needed to get outside. He had fun but it was short lived as it was quite cold.

Caleb has been fascinated with letters for a long time and loves to "build a word" like on his favorite show Word World. He can spell his name and told me which letters to write. Look at that satisfied grin.

Pretty Girl

Yes, I will admit to being a sucker for a sweet little girl in a precious smocked dress. Even still, these just took my breath away. At eight months old, she sure is a sweet little girl.
She's trying to say, "Mom and I are ready for Spring!"

Emma Kate is 8 Months Old

Emma Katherine is now eight months old. As I often said with Caleb, I would be so sad to watch her grow so quickly if each month wasn't even more fun and exciting.
She likes to be on her belly but prefers to roll everywhere as opposed to crawl. She has become more vocal carrying on a lengthy conversation of ba-ba-ba's. And if that wasn't sweet enough she'll flap her arms and smile at anyone who will adore her.
She is eating butternut squash, peas, oatmeal and applesauce. Now that she has the hang of it, she seems accepting of new foods.

Emma has plenty to entertain herself. Caleb is nonstop and she just stares at him constantly. We're excited that he is starting to use the potty. So don't think anything about it if you knock on the door only to find him bare from the waste down. You may also get a call about "big boy go potty" but catch the conversation quickly as the subject will be changed numerous times in the matter of seconds.

Choo Choo Trains!

Saturday we surprised Caleb with a trip to a model train show. He enjoyed going to each display and even moved the stool so he could get a good view. He came come with stamps on his hands, pictures for the wall, and ready for a nap.
