First Glimpse of Summertime

We've had sunshine lately and Friday was beautiful, but Saturday was our first real glimpse of summer. With shorts on these two spent the afternoon outside.
Emma Katherine has recently decided she likes the glider swing. Not only can she get on it herself, but also swing with Caleb.

 Look at that mischievous face!
Emma made messes and Caleb got creative building.

Caleb even decided to try a nap outside. My kind of guy!
My favorite two moments of the day tie between our PB&J picnic and seeing the kids excitement when Daddy set up the tent. He's been promising Caleb to set it up when the weather warmed up and Caleb sure didn't let him forget it.
The real excitement came that night when Matt and Caleb camped in the backyard. Caleb made it all night and loved every minute of it. Emma and I, on the other hand, only came for the pre-party. This was an excellent weekend to kick off Spring Break!

Razorback Baseball

Friday was such a beautiful day and being outside was a must. We got last minute tickets to the baseball game and headed to the stadium.
Emma Katherine looked so cute in her dress and pigtails.
I think she knew it too!

Caleb was excited about going to the game and insisted on bringing his razorback along.
On top of Daddy's shoulders is always a favorite place to be.
The kids enjoyed the running room in the outfield.

 Sweet moments!

Even a picture of the two of us. I sure do like this guy!

Changing as Fast as the Seasons

No amount of books could slow these two down. They are growing so fast.
Emma wore her snowman dress to celebrate the snow.
By the next weekend we were back to sunshine and a day of stripes. It wasn't planned but I would definitely say this was a good case of the stripes!

Swinging outside I noticed just how big this girl is getting. At 32 months, Emma Katherine is the most precious little girl. Her volume is always up, greets everyone she meets, and sings at the top of her lungs. Her favorites are Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and Jesus Loves Me. Her hair has filled in to the point of actually needing a clip to keep the hair out of her eyes instead of me pulling out all the tricks to get anything to stay. She loves her princesses and tutus, but wants nothing to do with the potty. She's not a "big girl" she's a "big sister" which must trump all. At night she loves to pray for her friends and read "Bible" which is the verse painted on the wall. Her hugs and "mootches" are so sweet and the hilarious things she says keeps us laughing. She weighs 27 lbs which is around the 20th percentile.

Caleb is becoming such a big boy. Caleb weighs 45 lbs which is around the 70th percentile. His imagination comes alive as he explains his newest creation with legos. He's having to learn how things he sees others doing, even his friends, isn't always acceptable. Caleb is excited about soccer season starting soon. He is a rough and tough boy but still is such a sweetheart especially to his mommy. He is also such a good big brother taking care of Emma and letting her play with him.

Snow?

Only in Arkansas do we go from sunny days to snow in a single week. My school let out a little early because of snow. I went straight home to get these two out in it. Caleb was already in the backyard and Emma Katherine was eager to go.

It didn't last long, but there was enough to sink our hands into.
We left a bowl out to catch snow, but no more fell. The next day our bowl was full of ice. Caleb and Emma enjoyed adding colored salt to melt it even though Caleb was a little disappointed as he thought the salt was going to turn it into snow that could be eaten.

Happy Valentine's Day

The nicest thing about the day was the opportunity to get outside for a little bit.

We spent a fun evening at home after plenty of parties this week.
Our favorite tradition (or at least mine:) is making chocolate covered strawberries. Matthew and I started this before children as a chance to do something yummy together instead of fighting restaurant crowds. Since they are my very favorite, this is one tradition I intend to keep going for many years to come.
We all enjoyed dipping. Caleb liked the strawberries and Emma Katherine liked the chocolate...no surprise!
A sweet tooth after my own heart!
The next morning we made heart shaped cinnamon rolls. A little re-rolling and they are definitely a hit!

Sweet Smiles

These two have the sweetest smiles especially when they smile at the same time! Our picture taking was a little few and far between towards the beginning of the year. Despite me heading to bed early with 1st trimester sleepiness and down for a week with the flu, these two didn't miss a beat. It was such a reminder that your days don't have to include fabulous Pinterest ideas or supermom energy to be precious. I love these two and can't wait to add another sweet smile to the mix.

I couldn't stage anything that cute if I tried!

Yes that is a tutu underneath Emma Katherine's dress and yes she wore it to church. This girl is all princess and loves her tutus.
When I finally rejoined the living during my last afternoon home with the flu, Caleb and I made homemade play doh. He was pretty proud of his forming his name.
