Back to School Take Two

Caleb has started another year of Kids Day Out. It was a "take two" not only because he and I were starting back at the same time, but also because he got sick on the actual first day and had to wait.

His teachers comment what a sweet and smart boy he is. It's pretty cute just to listen to him talk which he is doing much more these days. He knows his colors with pretty good accuracy and loves to point out the letters he sees in everything from books to t-shirts. He has so much to say but still needs some interpreting from mom and dad. He continually says "circle ja-bebb." Ja-bebb is how his name comes out and he thinks a C is round like a circle so it makes perfect sense to him. His favorite show to watch is Word World and it's so cute to watch him sing along. At night he sometimes insists that he reads the story and I think this takes the cake for cutest time to hear him talk as his sweet little voice describes everything he sees.

Such a big boy!

Newest Razorback Fan

Last Saturday was Emma's first game. Before the game we had a fun morning playing with the Leducs which was such a treat since we hadn't seen them in such a long time. We were so busy with trains, lunch, etc. we totally forgot to pull out the camera.

This weekend we weren't able to make it to Little Rock but watched in style from home. She found her tutu quite entertaining and I thought it was adorable.

Labor Day Weekend

Friday night we attended our last Natural's game of the season.
Of course he thoroughly enjoyed the game and fireworks as always!

Monday was such a beautiful day so we did a little walking and football throwing on campus.

Last Summer Shebang!

We spent an extended weekend in Branson before I returned to work. We had such a great time!

We spent a lot of time at the Landing as Caleb was quite impressed with the fountains. The weather was fabulous and so were patio dinners at night since both kiddos do so well outside.

Our hotel had the best view Caleb could imagine as it looked over the train depot. He loved watching the trains come and go. To his surprise, I took him during the day that Matt worked in Springfield. He liked the big dining car window where we sat, that the conductor came around to punch his ticket with an "E" and "C" just like the Polar Express, and he got to ride the train like "knuckle Tim."

Not only did the hotel have a great view, but it also had a mud puddle brought in just for his red shoes. Each time he ran back and forth from me to the fence to see the train, Caleb kept eyeing this mud puddle. I fought back a laugh as he processed the situation. On one pass he looked to each side, stuck in a toe, then the entire foot, and soon bent at the knees with a splash of a pro.

On top of everything else, Caleb approved of his sleeping arrangements. I think he could get used to a big bed and lots of pillows. These weren't Emma Kate's sleeping arrangements but she sure enjoyed rolling around in the sheets and was so cute doing it. This trip was a great way to end the summer!
