Turn Out the Lights...The Party is Over

With the passing of the Pro Bowl, Caleb and I had our first father-son
discussion and it didn't go very well. You can just imagine how difficult it was for Caleb to understand the end of the football season. This is especially hard for a guy who spent his first day of life watching Arkansas beat LSU from his Boppy in the hospital and has enjoyed games every weekend and inbetween ever since. A life with football is all he knows.

The explanation of "off season" was not well received. Hopefully the devastation of life as he knows it will subside. There is always replay on NFL Network.

Meeting the Mascots

Look who we ran into and met today. Razorback mascots were at the mall with the baseball players. Caleb was quite impressed with Ribby's big red snout. He and Pork Chop eagerly stopped for a picture with the cutest little fan.

Happy Valentine's Day

The best present was enjoying lunch at school with both of my valentines which I'm fortunate to get to do each day. When you have a wonderful chef bringing you dinner each week, there is no need to go out to dinner so we enjoyed a relaxing night at home with Matt's newly perfected dessert...Tiramisu.

Caleb was especially happy during dinner this week at Guido's. We enjoyed pizza as he enjoyed dancing on the table. It's hard to believe this little guy is already 12 weeks old.

Sweet Smiles

Caleb's sweet smile is quite contagious around our house. His heart-melting expressions just keep coming and make it hard to choose a favorite picture.

Super Sunday

Sunday morning was Caleb's Baby Dedication at church. Caleb slept through this special time as we prayed for him. We were glad Matt's mom, dad and sister Kathryn could join us for this very important time of commitment.

Sunday afternoon we watched the Super Bowl and glad the Lynchs and Snells could join us. Of course anytime Las Fajitas is served is always a good time.

Weekend Visitors

We've had quite an exciting few days. Caleb has enjoyed some tummy time on his bright new quilt. Saturday Yulia, Paul and Lidiya came to see Caleb for the first time since the hospital. Caleb had his first conversation in Russian, listening intently to every word. Of course anyone who will give him a bottle is always a hit no matter the language. Although Caleb has been smiling for several weeks, Saturday was his first laugh being quite entertained in his new Jumperoo.

Today Matt saw him turn over from tummy to back (this, of course, happened at 2 AM so I can't verify this as I was sound asleep). He said that Caleb was on his back when he went to check on him. He put him on his tummy and within a few minutes, Caleb kicked his leg and flipped on his side against the side of the crib. What an achiever...even at 2 in the morning.

Snow Days!

Friday was supposed to be Christy's first day back to school, but Thursday we were greeted with snow lasting long enough to close schools Friday as well. However, like always, it was a great chance to take some pictures. Caleb seemed to enjoy the brightness peering out the window.
Wednesday we visited our friends Kaylee Beth and Cindy. Kaylee and Caleb were not awake and cooperative at the same time to snap a picture. We are so glad they are doing well.
