Caleb's birthday begins our season of celebrating. Birthday number two was quite fun as he has turned into such a fun little boy. We celebrated Saturday with a tailgate Razorback birthday party. Football and the razorbacks are definitely his favorites. Can you blame him as he hasn't missed Fayetteville game since he was born? He was so excited to see so many razorbacks and couldn't be any cuter in his little jersey. One of the best presents was having his cousin Gracie come from Nebraska. They played nonstop and loved every minute together especially on his new swing set. Thank goodness for flood lights as he took advantage of the few days of decent weather afterwards to play until dark. Sunday after everyone had gone, we celebrated his actual birthday at Noodles with the sparkler dessert. The following week, he visited the Second Mile to deliver all of the peanut butter brought to his birthday party. They were excited about the peanut butter as they were running low and the cute little delivery boy. I know he doesn't fully understand his giving but I pray for a servant's heart as he grows.
At two Caleb is starting to use more words and repeat some. He can spot a ball, water, or flag anywhere and his excitement comes through in his volume level. He loves football and will give commentary "run" "catch" and "goooooooooo" with full enthusiasm. We don't have mollars yet but all other teeth are accounted for and best for eating his favorite food "pizzaaaaa!" In fact he will point to the cabinet where the mixer is stored and repeat "watch" because he wants to watch Daddy make a pizza. He loves to sit on the counter and watch him cook things like "sweet 'toes" as he told me over the phone one day on my way home from work. He sits on the ottoman beside Matt's desk and works the laptop and is always up for a football game. He likes to hold hands and bow his head to pray when we eat. Halfway through, those little eyes are staring right up into Matt's. He is just like his Daddy and for that I am so grateful. He doesn't understand about having a baby, but pray he shares his sweet spirit as a good big brother. I know exactly where these two years have gone as I have literally thousands of pictures, hitting countless milestones, but still shocked and amazed at every little change.
