Still waiting...

Well, let me just say that seeing how Christy's labor pains have gone away due to her epidural, it almost made me ask for one to sleep better on the very undersized couch.

I can't believe how cold it got up here yesterday. I went outside to move the Yukon to the front of the hospital and it was 32. BRRRR!!! I'm not going to complain so much about our "cold" delivery room.

The doctor came in and said that we are progressing well to the point that we may have a baby by 1 PM! How exciting...makes me want to sleep (the 2-hour little "diddy" of a nap didn't do much for my cohesiveness :\- ).

Here is probably the last picture of Christy pregnant with Caleb. Soon, there will be someone else to share the picture with :)

Hello from Room 28!

First off...

1) Yes, it IS 5:30 in the AM on Thanksgiving
2) Yes, we have had VERY little sleep (if all)

Well, as you read how our little Caleb's lease was up this last Friday and how the little turkey was holding on in hopes of some Thanksgiving lunch, let me just say that we are NOT on our time, but God's.

Christy started having REAL contractions, the ones that make her face squirm with pain, Wednesday night around 11 PM. They started out at 30 minutes apart, then to 20 minutes...10...7...then started averaging every 5 minutes (fast forward to 3 AM). After about an hour of this, we made the decision to call the hospital and get a professional opinion as to what needed to happen. They said to come on in and monitor her for an hour before either admitting her or sending us home (which we would be back 12 hours later, anyway). Well, after a quick catnap I awoke to the words printed on the screen "Admit Patient". WOO-HOO!!! WE'RE IN BUSINESS!!!

We got checked into Room 28 at Willow Creek Women's Hospital and hooked Christy up to the machines and had me sign a bunch of forms. I'm so tired, I hope I didn't sign away our life savings. I moved in all of our stuff and well, that's where I am. We may have the baby today or not. Either way, I'm going to sleep and dream of that Thanksgiving feast from AQ! I'll have pictures up later today (with or without baby).

Due date has come and gone!

Caleb's due date has come and gone. With a cook for a dad, I'm sure he is holding on for a little Thanksgiving turkey before leaving or maybe he is just waiting for more of a crowd of family to arrive for the holiday.
We will head to the hospital Thanksgiving evening for a Friday induction. Hopefully, by that evening we will be able to meet him. Thank you for your continued prayers. I know by the phone calls that so many are ready to meet little Caleb as well.

Waiting on Caleb

November 11, 2007
The room is all fixed up and no one to use it! If Caleb takes much longer, I'm afraid Matt is going to jump in the empty swing. We are anxiously awaiting his arrival. Here are a few pictures of his Hawaiian room that awaits him and my belly at 39 weeks.

Razorback Football

Saturday November 3, 2007

The home football schedule came to a close. Although the year was less than spectacular, we had a good time with family and friends. Here are some highlights from the Kentucky game, Homecoming and South Carolina game.

Happy Halloween!

At school, we had book character day. Cindy and I decided to be The Little Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly. We both had plenty of room on our pregnant bellies for everything from the fly to the horse. Looking like two bookends walking down the hall was the fun part. Enjoying this time and the daily comparing of stories with a dear friend has been really wonderful.

Fun in Jonesboro

We made a quick trip to Jonesboro since Rachael, Tim and Gracie were able to come from Nebraska. We crammed a great trip into a short amount of time which included a Christening and cookout with both families. Gracie was amazed with my bellybutton which has decided to completely make its appearance. More pictures of the weekend can be seen at her babysite. www.babysites.com/sites/rachael0314/

Aloha!

It was definitely a luau at the Baureis home from leis and kabobs to the Aloha swim trunk cake to celebrate baby Caleb. Thank you Dawn, Lael, and Betty for everything you did to make this a special day. We had guests from D.C., Uzbeckistan, Michigan, and good ole NW Arkansas.

Surprise!

I was completely surprised Thursday night when I show up for a meeting and greeted with blue balloons and baby boy cookie cake. My sisters had planned a surprise for Dayna, who is due the week after me, and myself to celebrate baby Garrett and baby Caleb.

Thanks Jones Family

Despite a busy week at school, Tuesday September 18th Matt and I were blessed by my wonderful coworkers at Jones Elementary.
