Our day on the island of Corfu was a wonderful balance of beautiful scenery, villages, and exploring Old Town. We first went to the Bay of Paleokastritsa and took a grotto boat tour around the islands. Although the bay was beautiful, the amazing views were found inside the caves.
Over time the water has carved out small caves and the boat driver was able to pull the boat inside several. Once inside each cave, the light shone in making the turquoise water really stand out, especially with the different colored rocks. The views were so amazing and I'm so glad we took the time to explore by boat.
We walked the shore before heading through the extremely tight streets of Lakones stopping above at Bella Vista for beautiful views from above.
We sampled food and drink in a taverna in Makrades Village. After returning, we walked to Old Corfu Town towards the fortress. The streets were full of shops and restaurants which left us wanting more time in this charming area.
