The next day I donned my Mykonos blue hat to explore on our own the beautiful town of white buildings trimmed in blue.
We quickly figured out why this is the most popular Greek island in the Aegean Sea.
My goal of getting lost in the tiny streets was easy to do. The white buildings, stone streets and blue trim made for such an amazing sight.
and found the restaurant we would return later that evening.
We walked to the windmills, saw the town mascot pelican called Petros, and made our way to the bus station. The bus station was more like a place in the middle of an intersection that had enough space to park a few busses.
We took one to Paradise Beach and were pleased to find very few people. We enjoyed watching the sun sink underneath the tiki umbrellas.
We could sure get use to this!
The bus brought us back to town and we ate dinner by the sea at Restaurant Alefkandra. We had the best view of an area called "Little Venice" and just steps away from the water. We sampled spanakopita (spinach and cheese layered between filo and baked), lamb chops, and spaganoki (my yummy shrimp marinara dish).
This view was better than dessert for which we had no room.
We then enjoyed the evening walk back to the pier glad to experience the town during the day and at night.
