Summer Safari

Our safari adventure began at the Wooden Spoon restaurant for lunch. I've only eaten there once and don't remember much about the restaurant from that trip, but this was the first time in the new building across the street. The kids enjoyed waiting in these great rocking chairs.

And afterwards, this is how Matt found us...swinging with my sweet babies.
This was our first time to bring the kids to the Gentry Safari and it was larger than I remember. This wasn't the only emu that came up to visit. They were everywhere.
We let Emma come up front to see, but she was more enamored by all of the buttons.  She also was more interested in the water than the buffalo beside it.

After the driving tour, we got a bad of food and went to feed the animals. I did the feeding as neither wanted to get close enough for that. It was probably a good thing since the goats and llama were for friendly they would come right up and jump on you. We did find a bunny which Emma really enjoyed along with all of the monkeys. Caleb wanted to see a hippo which we did, but ended up really liking the tigers the best.

Our new 'ta-da' pose in front of the big gorilla.

This little rider was so excited to get on the horse.

Caleb found the peacocks very interesting but Emma Katherine wasn't too sure.
It was a great trip and we won't wait as long to go back.
