Birthday Girl

After her fun-filled morning and long nap, Emma awoke to lots of presents some as big as she. She is blessed to have friends and family who love her dearly and I'm so glad this was a happy day for her. The four of us celebrated in the backyard.
Cleo completes the Clifford set which the kids love.
She tried her new tricycle that is just her size and noticed a compartment that would fit other surprises.
She immediately started reading her new book of nursery rhymes and we've already made it through half of it. And this purse talked to her!
We then headed out for her first sno cone especially since it was $1 sno cone day.  Whoever came up with invisible flavors is a genius!
Our final stop was the park.

At two years old, Emma Katherine is 24.2 lbs (17th percentile) and 33 inches tall (27th percentile) where as Caleb is 43 inches tall (74th percentile) and 40.4 lbs (63rd percentile) at 4 1/2 years. She's wearing mostly 18 month clothes and size 4 shoes which she already loves to pick out. She finally has enough hair for a teeny tiny pony tail on top to hold her bows. She will sing to herself in her bedroom mirror and say her name over and over. She counts to three and spells her name E-Mmm-Mmm-A making the sounds for the letter M. She loves to call the hogs and tries to spell out Arkansas focusing mostly on the motions. Matt's guitar stand is the perfect height for a microphone and sings out to Third Day during our living room praise band sessions. She is a pro at the iPhone rearranging my apps in and out of folders so she can easily find her favorites. She is a puzzle wiz and is her first choice to play.

Outside she loves swinging in the same swing Caleb got for his second birthday. They are starting to play with each other more and more. Unfortunately, her daring nature and dainty tiptoe run results in knees that are always scraped and she pats any boo boo whether it's on herself or anyone else. Caleb got Emma a baby bottle as she loves to take care of her two baby dolls wrapping them in blankets and patting them. Since then, she has been hard at work as I think every stuffed animal we own has been given a bottle. She enjoys the chalkboard on her easel, but not willing to touch paint without protest.
Emma is such a talker starting to say several three word phrases like "want my daddy" and she really does. She is definitely a Daddy's girl and it is so sweet! Not only does she have lots of words to say but says them loudly. Matt nicknamed her air horn with legs. Despite her dainty size, her squeals and songs can be heard by all.
We left drenched in sweat and completely dirty, but not before noticing a surprise visitor.

A little bunny let us get pretty close to watch him. This tickled her since she really gets excited every time we see them.
