Summer Fun

We've been staying busy but not too busy! I love these summer days and the smiles that come with them. Last week we got a couple gallons of blueberries at Blue Heaven Farms. After two unsuccessful trips while Matt was away for work, Caleb and Matt went early one morning to make sure they weren't already sold out for the day.
We've also spent a lot of time in PJs whether it be chef Emma cooking up something wonderful in their kitchen,

helping Daddy cook in the real kitchen,

or Caleb tackling a graphing challenge.
One Sunday after church I did find her with shark and large chef knife in hand. I just never know with this little girl.
We tried our hand at badminton and realized it was much harder than it looks.

However, Emma in her pigtails sure make it look good.
A favorite was painting the fence. It was watching them do this I thought about how very little it actually takes to put smiles on their faces. At this point in their little lives, we don't need elaborate activities just a backyard to run and scream. We don't need a bucket list, just a bucket and a water hose can be just as fun as a water park. I am cherishing this time when it truly takes so very little. They spent almost the entire day outside and loving every moment of it.

Caleb used the hose to create a water slide.

By the time they were through, I think the entire yard had quite a watering.
I just had to laugh when I looked out the window to find this. Instead of having a picnic snack of Cheerios under the new trampoline, Caleb had a much better idea. It was completely covered, he was trying to make them bounce and proceded to eat them with no hands!
Of course any "good" idea of Caleb sounds great to Emma Katherine too!
When it's too hot outside, these two find plenty of things to do.
Yes, her new sunglasses were completely necessary for cruising the hallway.
She even talks Caleb in to spinning her in circles.

Their table outside is a perfect spot for picnics and when pants are optional around here they usually opt out. I even surprised them with a rare trip to the theater to see Mosters University complete with a big bucket of popcorn.
Here are a couple more pictures of Caleb playing with friends. He is blessed to know some sweet boys and spend some summer days with them.
